First I had issues trying to run my rails projects, and then Xcode started to crash, I had to download the last version of Xcode and it fixes a lot of issues with libraries and stuff.

Then I tried to use KisMAC which is an open source software for Mac to scan networks and I use it to put in promiscuous mode  my wifi card.

This is KisMac description from the official site:

KisMAC is a free, open source wireless stumbling and security tool for Mac OS X.

Well, It was crashing like crazy every time I started the scan,

I figured out that KisMac started to work again after removing the following files:

• ~/Library/Preferences/org.kismac-ng.kismac.plist.lockfile
• ~/Library/Preferences/org.kismac-ng.kismac.plist

You gotta make sure there is no more files with the name ‘kismac’, you can do it using the following command:

cd  ~/Library/Preferences/ &&  ls | grep “kismac”

I had a great Google hangout with Wilgeman, we chatted about the game story, features and we designed a basic action board.

This game is gonna be awesome! but I can only give you some details by now.

1. GeeksVsTheApocalyse will be an online multi player game.
2. The 3 geeks characters will have great real weapons + some kind of magic XD.
3. A lot of action!

McKain and I are planning on doing a game, with us geeks as the heroes in a dark world called Moonshine, we and our friends and family are alive in this world, but the whole world goes zombie on us. But leave it to McKain, Wilgeman, and VanRooden to take down the house in our 8 Bit style webgame called Geeks versus the Apocalypse!

A friend asked me about this a few minutes ago, he downloaded Navicat (trial) and he wanted to add Navicat to his launcher.

After some minutes I found this solution:

Step 1:

create a file with a .desktop extension on this path:

/home/<YourUserName>/.local/share/applications/

For example:

/home/mckain/.local/share/applications/mylauncher.desktop

Step 2:

Edit the file you just created and add the following lines:

[Desktop Entry]
Encoding=UTF-8
Version=1.0
Type=Application
Exec=’/home/mckain/Downloads/navicat101_mysql_en/start_navicat’
Name=Navicat
Comment=custom launcher for test
NoDisplay=false

Where:

Exec = ‘blah!’  # It is the path of your custom app.

Name = ”       #Put whatever you want there, it’s up to you.

Now, this launcher icon will appear in the Activities/Applications list, go there look for it and drag it to your launcher bar.
